In This series "Layers of Meaning" I seek to experience the cities and towns of the world. Looking for their unique spirit, their beat, their environment, their people, and the way daily life is at present.
At the southeastern end of the Park lies the Pond, a serene body of water home to birds, turtles, and other wildlife. Just feet away from bustling Fifth Avenue, the Pond provides visitors with a dramatic entrance to the Park as they stroll below street level into the hush of this natural retreat.
