I seek to experience the cities of the world, their unique spirit, their beat, their struggle, their belly, the feel of it all. My focus these days is people, and the way they conduct the daily services of life: the policeman, the waiter, the seamstress, the paper boy, the beggar, the bank teller, the actress, the student, the priest, the runner, the bartender, the postman, the street vendor, the cook, the taxi driver, the whore.
I photograph them hoping to capture their realities and the physical uniqueness of their city. The pictures describe the facts and when transferred to stretch fabric, they become a biased canvas in which to paint my memories, to express the essence of what I felt standing, smelling, hearing, touching, and picturing.
